Information Sessions about Tax Reform: Tax Planning and Private Corporations

Several dates and locations available, reserve now

On July 18, 2017, the Canadian Minister of Finance, Bill Morneau, introduced a bill and consultation document that could significantly change your tax strategy.

In fact, these legislative proposals target mainly :

  • family income splitting;
  • the use of trusts;
  • claiming the capital gains exemption following the disposal of a private corporation’s shares;
  • shareholder compensation as a capital gain;
  • the tax deferral available to all corporations, more specifically when the capital is no longer used to carry on an active business, which includes all management and investment companies, as well as real estate companies.

During this conference, we will explain these new complex rules and their impacts. We will specify what action needs to be taken before December 31, 2017 and in 2018, as applicable, to continue benefitting from the former rules and present the available choices.

Please note that the presentations will be given in French, except for the one given in Ottawa.
