Jean Robillard has a BBA in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal, and a DEA in Finance-Accounting from the Université des Sciences Sociales de Grenoble. He is also a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy as well as a member of the prestigious Insolvency Institute of Canada.
After having begun his career as a professor at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal, Mr. Robillard joined Raymond Chabot Martin Paré in 1983 and became a Partner in 1986. President of Raymond Chabot Inc. from 1993 to 2009, he was in charge of the largest group of recovery and reorganization professionals in Quebec at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton until he became President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Furthermore, he is a member of Grant Thornton International’s Strategic Committee.
Despite his administrative responsibilities, Mr. Robillard has always been very involved in the practice of his profession. For more than 25 years, he has worked on many major recovery and reorganization cases. He specializes in financial reorganizations and transactions with insolvent companies. Mr. Robillard acts as a consultant for buyers, creditors or shareholders, a Trustee in proposals under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act or as Monitor in arrangements under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.
As the author of numerous articles, Mr. Robillard’s opinion is sought in countless interviews and conferences.
