You may have heard in the news about the unification of the accounting profession in Quebec. Indeed, May 2012 saw the creation of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (hereinafter the “Ordre des CPA”), which henceforth regroups chartered accountants, certified general accountants and certified management accountants. The Ordre des CPA now represents all the profession’s fields — assurance, financial accounting, management and management accounting, finance and tax strategies — at the service of businesses, organizations the general public.
