In order to virtually transport potential recruits to the heart of their future work environment, robots have become loyal allies.
In fact, five robots baptized Julie, Ariane, Jessica, Antoine and Caroline have enabled future interns to connect to the work environment of several of our offices and exchange with the staff present.
Innovating to better adapt
When the virus disappears, it’s likely that telework will remain for many organizations. This exceptional situation is leading companies to innovate, with a view not only to remain agile in order to better weather this unprecedented crisis, but also to embark on the digital shift, a condition for successful competitiveness and to further ensure their prosperity.
Faced with this new reality, innovation must be at the heart of the talent recruiting process. In this regard, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has shown originality by exploiting technologies for the benefit of young local talent.
During a virtual tour of eight of the firm’s offices (Brossard, Laval, Montréal, Val-d’Or, Rimouski, Québec City, Saint-Hyacinthe and Chicoutimi) reserved for university recruiting, more than 100 students were able to take an individual robot tour of the dynamic and friendly work environment of the office of their choice.
The robot tours were held from September 9 to 16, 2020 and a virtual fair also took place on September 17, 2020.
Technology at the service of recruiting
Macha Pohu, Vice-President, Talent & Culture, said: “Pandemic or not, recruiting talent remains a priority for all organizations, particularly in the context of labour shortages in many industries. Since Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton must continue its recruiting campaigns to attract and retain the best talent, these virtual robot tours of our offices, with the opportunity to chat live with colleagues from the firm, have made a valuable contribution. This technological initiative should continue to be used as a recruiting tool in the years to come, as the experience has proven to be a great success.”
This talent recruiting innovation showcases new techniques that are likely to be used by many employers.
