50th anniversary of the Beauce offices

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has been present for 50 years in the Beauce region, during which our firm committed to hundreds of clients and tens of regional organizations. Thanks to our six offices located in the cities of Beauceville, Saint-Ephrem, Saint-Georges, Saint-Joseph, Sainte-Justine and Sainte-Marie, we have always been at the heart of the region’s economic activity and we carried on playing an important assistance role for the development of enterprises and organisations in the region.

As the partner in charge of the Beauce region, I am proud of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s leader position within the business community. Our firm stands out because of the large range of services it offers to regional entrepreneurs. Our implication also translates into our association with chambers of commerce, the Conseil économique de Beauce and other organizations, as well as the commitment of some of our professionals who are on various boards of directors.

I want to thank our loyal clients who, all these years, elected us as their experts and continued to trust us. I also salute the efforts of our team, composed of about 70 professionals, thanks to whom we are able to maintain the quality of our professional services and our reputation as a leader in the province of Quebec, as the first major accounting firm offering assurance, taxation and strategic consulting services.

The year 2016 will be a year of celebration, because we are committed to highlight the 50 years of history that made our firm what it is today. Throughout the year, various recognition events will be organized and we will enhance some partnerships with long-term allies. Furthermore, to show our appreciation to those who contributed to our success in a more personal way, we plan for each of our offices a celebration or a nod dedicated to our regional clients and partners.

We would like to summarize these years of history by presenting you a series of texts that will allow you to learn more about the implication of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton in the Beauce region from the point of view of different stakeholders, such as our partners, consulting partners, employees, clients and business partners.

The first one will highlight the encounter of emerging and experienced professionals. It will consist in an interview that will allow you to find out about the prolific career and flawless commitment of Mr. Claude Cliche, an ambassador of our firm in Beauce.

The partners of the Beauce region join me in inviting you to follow us during this anniversary year and to celebrate with us.

In November 2015, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Women of Talent committee made its first visit of the Bas‒Saint-Laurent region. From Montmagny to Gaspé, La Pocatière and Chandler, each event was a resounding success!

November 4th (Montmagny) and November 12th (La Pocatière)

On November 4th and 12th, women from Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Montmagny and La Pocatière offices jointly organized the region’s first Women of Talent networking activities.

These wine and cheese happy hour events brought together over 60 business women from both areas who discussed various topics related to women and their place in the business world.

Women from every sector of activity met on November 4th at the Louis-Jacques-Casault school in Montmagny and on November 12th at Centre Bombardier in La Pocatière.

They spoke and networked over a tasting of terroir products. This first edition was an all-around success! These initiatives will be followed up by similar events in the coming year.

The Visit Continues…

November 19th (Gaspé) and November 20th (Chandler)

On November 19th at the Hôtel des Commandants in Gaspé, the first Women of Talent happy hour took place, welcoming some 50 business women and professionals who came to attend the Au-délà des sommets (Beyond the Summits) conference given by Véronique Denys, Tax Manager from the Quebec City office.

The next day, at Chandler, this same presentation was given during a breakfast conference at the Club de golf de Chandler for a group of twenty talented women from the Rocher-Percé RCM and four Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton employees.

Véronique shared her experience of climbing the highest peaks of each of the seven continents¾she is the first woman from Quebec to have succeeded in this endeavour and, more specifically, her Everest climb. Véronique’s moving account inspired and motivated the women at these two events.

Women of Talent would specifically like to thank all the women who participated in these activities, as well as Véronique Denys for her conference. Her presence was greatly appreciated and many will remember her for a long time to come. Hats off to this most inspiring woman!
