Congratulations to Claude Métras, Public Relations Officer for the Eastern Townships region, on being appointed Citizen Emeritus by the City of Sherbrooke as part of the city’s Canada Day celebrations. Moved by receiving such a prestigious honour, Claude said it represented a major event in his life during his thank-you speech.

As an expert real estate consultant, commercial adjudicator and mediator, and board member of the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec, Claude has also played a major role in several other organizations, such as the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke, the Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum, the Société d’histoire de Sherbrooke and the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa. He is even a Quebec representative on the Board of Trustees of the Fathers of Confederation Buildings Trust!

Jean RobillardMontréal, July 11, 2012 – The 2,300 employees of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton were saddened to learn of the passing of their President and Chief Executive Officer, Jean Robillard, on Monday following a brief, rapidly progressive illness.

Jean Robillard, who was 58 at the time of his death, had been head of the Firm since 2008, following a brilliant career within the Firm’s Recovery and Reorganization group since 1986.

Recognized as a meticulous and determined individual, Jean Robillard was instrumental in helping the Firm to stand out and achieve a leading position among major Quebec-based organizations.
