In Quebec, only 265 people hold a Trustee license from the OSB. This accomplishment is the much anticipated end result of not only numerous years of studying for the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program, but also of the successful completion of the national insolvency exam and oral exam the OSB holds once a year.

A unique force in Quebec

We are fortunate to have 52 trustees working for our firm, that is, close to three times more than any of our competitors! Another wonderful opportunity to celebrate the strength of our network!

Chicoutimi, May 30, 2016 – Today, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (SLSJ) offices have launched a new service that will contribute to businesses’ longevity and help them grow and create further wealth. The purpose of this business brokerage service, a first in Quebec, is to guide business buyers and sellers in their business transactions.

Armed with its expertise in succession and business transfers developed over more than ten years, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has decided to go further in its support of businesses. It has created a unique meeting place for buyers and sellers, based on the profile of businesses in the SLSJ region.

“This brokerage project, which we decided to first launch in the SLSJ region, will play a major role in retaining our wealth creators here in Quebec. This new service, offered by an experienced multidisciplinary team, will enable Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton to solidify its position as leader, combining its integrated business transfer approach with an exclusive brokerage service for business sales and purchases,” stated Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton President and CEO, Emilio B. Imbriglio.

Once entrepreneurs sign up for the plan, guaranteeing them a structured and confidential process, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton professionals will take care of all steps needed to close the deal. This is the added value of such a service! For example, we’ll take care of measuring a business’s value, suggest ways to increase transaction value, undertake marketing and the search for potential buyers, assist with negotiations and the sales terms and conditions and even the steps required to conclude a transaction. Our fees would be determined using the pay-for-performance principle,” added Éric Dufour, Vice-President of the SLSJ region and national leader in business transfers at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
