Luc Lacombe

Luc Lacombe

Congratulations to Luc Lacombe, Taxation Partner and President of Cercle Saint-Martin de Laval, for acting as honorary chair of the Théâtre Bluff “Ados d’un soir” benefit evening, which raised nearly $70,000 for the welfare of adolescents.

This event, held last April 27 at Maison des arts de Laval, featured business personalities and professional actors. It was a fine close to the annual fundraising campaign, which enabled the organization to raise $67,497 thanks to its donors’ generosity.

Luc Lacombe, teen for an evening

We should note that Luc Lacombe took on the challenge last year and accepted to go on stage and play the role of a teenager for an evening. This unique experience gave him access to a gem of the Laval artistic community. “I discovered that Théâtre Bluff, for nearly 25 years, thanks to its creations and awareness activities, has built bridges between adolescents and people of my generation. By getting us to discover authors from here and abroad who defend current social issues, Théâtre Bluff is a vector of awakening, transmission and openness to the world,” declared the Taxation Partner stationed at the Laval office.

Thank you to the 150 guests from the school community, the media, politics, the arts and business, who attended this evening to support Théâtre Bluff, the first theatre company dedicated to adolescents to be established in Laval, 25 years ago.

In the context of his monthly commentary on the Argent channel, Trustee Partner and Financial Recovery Advisor Eric Lebel emphasizes the importance of breaking taboos when you have financial problems.

The CROP survey on Quebecers and personal finances, Les Québécois et les finances personnelles, commissioned by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton for the awareness campaign Ne perdez pas vos moyens”, shows that one out of two Quebecers is living with a difficult financial situation and that the same proportion say they are uncomfortable talking about it to the people around them. One out of ten would even be afraid to discuss it with his or her spouse.

But according to Eric Lebel, daring to talk about the situation is the first step for getting out of it. The expert recommends, above all, that people not isolate themselves and that they seek help. He also offers other advice, which you can find in the May 8, 2015 interview with host Pierre Paquin.

For more information on what to do when you encounter financial difficulties, watch the clips of Laurent Paquin’s advice available on www.raymondchabot.com
