The Grant Thornton global organization publishes its global revenues and announces 6.4% growth for 2019.

Grant Thornton, the global organization of which Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is a member, published its global results on January 9, 2020, announcing global revenues of US$5.72B for the financial year ended September 30, 2019.

In particular, these results were driven by:

  • Investment in 13 strategic markets where Grant Thornton sees the highest potential for growth in the mid-market segment;
  • Asia Pacific which saw outstanding results from many firms, including those above, which drove growth of 10.7% across the region, nearly double the projected regional GDP growth for 2019;
  • Solid growth across all service lines with a particularly strong result from advisory (+8.6%), closely followed by tax (+5.9%) and assurance (+4.7%).

Peter Bodin, CEO Grant Thornton International Ltd, says: “Our robust 2019 global revenues are the result of a deliberate strategy, focused on quality and culture, which delivered sustainable growth for the network. Our firms’ focus on quality and helping clients navigate an increasingly uncertain world has delivered another record result for our network. As clients continue to expand into new territories, transform the way they do business and cope with increasing regulation, we need to evolve and adapt with them. There is also mounting pressure from consumers, investors and regulators to transform business models and build a more sustainable global economy. It’s reassuring to see Grant Thornton firms succeed as we continue to build a sustainable next-generation professional services organization.”

Emilio B. Imbriglio, President and CEO of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton congratulated the global organization’s member firms. He especially highlights the work of the 2,600 professionals at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton whose efforts have largely contributed to these positive results: “Our firm is very proud to contribute to this international success. Our integrated service offering and access to the professionals of Grant Thornton’s worldwide network allow us to support local businesses in their growth, both nationally and internationally.”

New entrepreneurs have received a welcome boost through workshops designed to better equip them to start their businesses.

The RCGT Academy makes it easier to access experts and offers distinctive guidance to support entrepreneurs in the deployment of their business.

This first cohort included eight entrepreneurs from the New Beauce region and the city of Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce.

“The RCGT Academy is a short five-course workshop of covering all aspects relating to the challenges facing entrepreneurs who want to ensure the successful start-up of their business. I feel better equipped!”

Catherine Fournier, Cliche, Laflamme, Loubier lawyers

“I learned a lot and the content was very relevant! The presenters are very generous and explained using easy-to-understand language. Furthermore, as participants, we all felt at ease to share our experiences because we are all living something similar .”

Marie-Christine Lavoie, MP Déneigement

These courses were graciously offered by Steeve Vachon, Tax Partner, and Chantal Gravel, Senior Assurance Manager at our firm.

Given the success of this first cohort, the firm is launching a second one that will be offered as of January 20, 2020.  Apply online. Don’t delay, places are limited!
