Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and Groupe La Relève recently entered into a strategic association. This promising new alliance brings together two major players involved in ensuring the success of business successions and transfers. Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has been involved in this sector for over 10 years and the Groupe has been applying its energy and drive in this area since it was created in 2014. Under the direction of its three founding partners Édith Arsenault, Alexandre Raymond and Chanel Alepin, Groupe’s mission is to support family business entrepreneurs, particularly through networking and training.

“I am very pleased with this association,” stated Éric Dufour, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Regional Vice-President, Partner and National Business Transfer Leader. “Chanel, Édith and Alexandre represent the drive of the new generation of entrepreneurs and it’s only natural for us to want to support the sustainability and growth of local business managers. Fostering efficient business transfers is in fact one of the keys to our economy’s vitality”.

The underlying objectives of this association are to:

  • Promote and develop Quebec family businesses;
  • Provide training and useful tools to the next generation of entrepreneurs taking over their family businesses; and
  • Showcase the two organizations’ common mission province-wide.

Groupe La Relève currently has five 20-member groups of family business successors in the Greater Montréal region and Québec City. New groups will be set up in the coming year, in Sherbrooke, Gatineau and Trois-Rivières.

Groupe’s partners actively promote their mission through their involvement in various events and forums, including, more recently, on Histoires de succès, broadcast on V Télé.
