Congratulations to Jean-Daniel Brisson, Lead Senior Director of the Management Consulting Group, for his expert participation in the capsules on governance of the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations (IGOPP).

Due to Jean-Daniel’s expertise in corporate strategy and his experience with non-profit organizations, he was chosen to appear in a series of 7 videos on best practices in governance and share his advice. Some videos concern strategy and SMEs, while others deal with governance for NPOs. Two of his videos are already online on rcgt.com and the others will follow in turn, beginning in January 2015.

 

 

 

A major initiative for SMEs and a unique alliance

Remember that the Institute for Governance (IGOPP) has created a unique alliance with its five partners, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, BDC, Investissement Québec, Lavery and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton with the aim of improving governance, adapted to the different realities of SMEs. This major initiative is an indispensable tool to support SMEs in the deployment of a governance structure adapted to their context. In this perspective, this partnership’s objective is to disseminate the best governance practices adapted to the realities of SMEs.

Luc Lacombe, Tax Partner at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, commented on the economic and financial update of the Quebec Government, which is staying the course to a balanced budget for 2015-2016. Despite this context of austerity, Mr. Lacombe insisted that Quebec must seek to create wealth and jobs nonetheless, because the current economic environment really needs this. Mr. Lacombe’s observations were echoed with host Paul Houde of 98.5 FM on his December 2 show (listen starting at 2 min. 59 sec.) and Le Journal de Québec in an article dated December 3 (text also published on various Quebecor platforms).

On November 18, 2014, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton President and CEO, Emilio B. Imbriglio, had the privilege to serve as interviewer at a Manufacturiers et exportateurs du Québec breakfast meeting.
