Emilio B. Imbriglio

Emilio B. Imbriglio, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, who is both a graduate of Concordia University and a former professor at that institution, was recently interviewed by the alumni publication, Concordia University Magazine. Through this short profile, Mr. Imbriglio shares his passion for business, while emphasizing the Firm’s strength and dynamism. He also reveals some of the issues and challenges that concern and motivate him. This electronic newsletter, sent to over 90,000 alumni throughout Québec and around the world, is an excellent showcase for Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and its President.

Motorcycling with the President

On a lighter note, in an innovative formula that explores a more personal side of a veteran Canadian chartered accountant, CA Magazine called on Mr. Imbriglio. As a motorcycle enthusiast for over 20 years, the President and CEO tells us what he keeps in his saddlebags, in a very special feature. This is an enjoyable way to raise the profile of a senior executive and his firm in a major magazine, with a circulation of over 95,000 copies in French and English.

Although different, these two profiles have one common point: they introduce us to certain facets of the personality of a seasoned manager of the biggest Québec-controlled accounting firm in Canada, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. This visibility once again shows the influence of the firm and its top executive!

MONTRÉAL, September 27, 2013 – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is proud to announce its accreditation under ISO 14065 by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as part of the Greenhouse Gas Accreditation Program. This accreditation positions the firm among GHG verification leaders, as it is the first Canadian enterprise to receive this accreditation from the SCC.

“We are very proud to receive this accreditation, which is a stamp of quality for our clients, because it recognizes that Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and its professionals comply with the specifications set out for validating and verifying GHG assertions. The accreditation also recognizes that we are familiar with measuring and reporting GHG emissions, their reduction or removal under the requirements set out in the ISO standard’s three parts,” explained Johanne Gélinas, Partner in Charge of the Sustainability and GHG Management practice.

With this accreditation, the SCC recognizes that Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s GHG emissions verification practices comply with the requirements set out in ISO 14065 for GHG validation and verification bodies. The accreditation also enables the firm to perform inventory verification for large GHG emitters (more than 25,000 tonnes of CO2 per year) in accordance with the Quebec government’s Regulation respecting mandatory reporting of certain emissions of contaminants into the atmosphere. The firm can now also provide GHG inventory verification services for enterprises wishing to obtain certifications regarding their GHG management approach.

Therefore, this accreditation enhances Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s GHG emissions management service offering, which already includes GHG inventory services as well as GHG reduction quantification and verification services.
