Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is proud to announce the appointment of Louise Labrie, CA, Partner in the Management Consulting Group at the Québec City office, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec. The appointment by the provincial government’s Conseil des ministres testifies to Louise Labrie’s leadership, economic and social contributions and the scope of her influence in the region.

Created in 1995 by the National Assembly, the Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec’s mission is to contribute to the development and promotion of Quebec’s capital and advise the government on how to showcase the city. The Commission is administered by a Board of Directors made up of 13 government-appointed members and representatives of various segments of Quebec society.

Raymond Chabot has won the 2012 Consumer Choice excellence award in the Trustee Category for the Québec City region.

Mark Bernier and Jocelyn Renaud, both Recovery and Reorganization Partners at the Québec City office, represented Raymond Chabot on the occasion and received the award during the Consumer Choice Awards Gala on June 5, 2012.

Winners are selected based on a Léger Marketing survey that ranks the best businesses selected by consumers and business people (in the latter’s respective industries). Furthermore, the Consumer Choice Award is the only award in North America that recognizes business excellence based on a statistically valid inquiry among consumers and enterprises.

The Ordre des CPA was created in May 2012 following the unification of the accounting profession in Quebec. It results from the merger of the Ordre des comptables agréés (CA), Ordre des comptables généraux accrédités (CGA) and Ordre des comptables en management accrédités (CMA). The Ordre now represents all areas of expertise of the accounting profession—assurance, financial accounting, management and management accounting, finance and taxation—at the service of enterprises, organizations and the general public. This explains why Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s partners and experts whose previous title was CA, CMA or CGA will now be designated as CPA.
