It is with great enthusiasm that our firm’s Estrie region has donated a cheque of $12,535 to the Le Tandem organization as part of the OH Sommet RCGT event.

Saturday, March 14, 2020 was to mark the very first edition of the OH Sommet RCGT fundraising event. In partnership with Owl’s Head Ski Resort and Destination Owl’s Head, employees from our firm mobilized to organize a family activity that would simultaneously raise funds for a local organization. They chose Le Tandem, a social and community paediatrics centre that helps underprivileged children aged 0 to 17.

The Centre fosters a needs-based, integrated social medicine approach that builds on the strengths of the child, family and environment. Le Tandem’s mission is to enable children from all backgrounds to unlock their full potential.

Mobilizing for fundraising

In light of the pandemic, the event was cancelled due to the risks associated with spreading the virus during gatherings. Even though there was great disappointment, the organizing committee chose to multiply its solicitation efforts in order to help children in need. The actions of the organizing committee members demonstrate the importance of the firm’s involvement in the community.

Jean Gaouette, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Partner from the Magog office said: “I am very proud of the organizing committee, which persevered despite the situation. Our sense of belonging to the city of Magog and the Memphremagog RCM is very strong, and it is very important for us to give back to our community.”

Pierre Marcouiller and Johanne Bellemare from the Nexcap Foundation also believe in supporting Le Tandem. Like those involved in the OH Sommet RCGT event organization, they agree that it is essential to concretely participate in the health and well-being of one’s community. The Nexcap Foundation made a major donation so that Le Tandem, which welcomes, among others, toddlers in need, can continue its activities.

As for Olivier Bourdeau and Vincent Boutin, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton employees and the event’s organizers, they feel this was a missed opportunity that they would like to revisit.

Bourdeau and Boutin added: “We created a beautiful event concept where families are welcome and can have fun while helping a cause we care about. We’re currently working on preparing a second edition that would take place while respecting the sanitary measures in force, and we hope to see this event come to fruition.

More details to come soon about the second edition. Meanwhile, get your skis ready!

Québec City, September 21, 2020 – Québec International and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton are pleased to consolidate their efforts to support regional companies in initiating their digital transformation. Between September 24 and October 29, 2020, business leaders and entrepreneurs are invited to take part in the Manufacturier numériQC initiative, a series of six virtual conferences dedicated to innovation and technology.

To face the challenges of the years to come and seize business opportunities, Québec International and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton are working together to support small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in their digital and technological transition. According to Carl Viel, President and CEO of Québec International: “Digital transformation is increasingly unfolding in the industrial landscape. Business growth includes Industry 4.0, which is an essential element in ensuring the economic prosperity of the region and of Quebec.”

Organized with the Investissement Québec competition, Manufacturier numériQC invites small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to succeed in their digital transformation and carry out their projects in order to remain productive and competitive. With the presentation of feasible and effective digitization and optimization models tailored to the reality of manufacturing in Quebec, the program is centered around the experience of local companies and dialogue and on the following six conferences:

Start your digital transformation off right with the 4.0 audit

“In a new business context that requires more agility and innovation from manufacturing companies supporting economic prosperity, the digital and technological transformation is an essential engine for business recovery, as well as sustainability. Catching up is no longer an option. Businesses must invest in a sustained manner to ensure continued increases in efficiency and income, fill labour shortages, and take on the challenge of global competitiveness.” notes Nancy Jalbert, Management Consulting Partner and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’ leader of the Industry 4.0 practice. “Companies must take on the 4.0 challenge, and this shift requires preparation. The Industry 4.0 audit remains one of the structuring elements to start a real digital shift and is possible through a grant offered by Investissement Québec whereby experts from our firm are accredited to support businesses.” adds Jalbert.

Informative and structuring meetings for a successful digital transformation

Business leaders and entrepreneurs are invited to attend these conferences where they will learn how to improve their production. Managers will be able to experience the full potential of digital solutions for their manufacturing company and discover how a digital transformation is a promising investment for businesses.
