As a contributor for Canadian magazine The Bottom Line, Taxation Partner Luc Lacombe reveals ways in which the Quebec Government could recover some revenue. In his opinion, the introduction of a home renovation tax credit is one solution. “If the government introduced a 20 per cent tax credit, as it did in the past, it would ensure that the contractor who is doing the work is declaring his revenues, and therefore recoup even more monies from them in the form of income taxes,” says Luc Lacombe. ACET (Accélérateur de création d’entreprises technologiques), together with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, announced the launch of a new web platform to support entrepreneurship, available at www.JeSuisEntrepreneur.ca.

The application, which is available in its entirety online, enables entrepreneurs to create a profile and manage their business project. Easy-to-use and user-friendly, the application was designed to meet the needs of all entrepreneurs, no matter their age, activity sector, education or the size of their business.

In practice, users will find the tool handy when it comes time to search for information on economic development organizations in their region, and for following up on what needs to be done during the start-up and growth stages, completing a business plan or exchanging ideas with other entrepreneurs or investors.

“At Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, we are committed to supporting economic development and entrepreneurial initiatives, which is why it only seemed natural to work with ACET to launch the tool,” stated Guy Fauteux, Vice-President of the Eastern Townships region. “Whether through collaborations like this one or initiatives like Programme Envol, we have a role to play on the Eastern Township’s entrepreneurial stage, among others, and we are fully committed to doing so,” concluded Guy.

ACET’s Mission
Since its creation in 2011, ACET has been devoted to selecting, training and supporting start-up technology-based companies, creating high quality jobs and transforming projects into businesses which will support a knowledge-based economy.
