MONTRÉAL, October 30, 2013 – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and La Fondation de l’entrepreneurship are proud to announce that they are teaming up for business successions.

With the shared desire to offer businesses the means to achieve their ambitions and become ever more competitive and innovative, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has become a “Bâtisseur émérite” partner of the foundation. The firm will be involved in various initiatives which will leverage its extensive experience with business transfers and successions, such as:

  • The foundation’s “Initiative relève” pilot project which provides three-pronged support (know-how, expertise and finance) for business buyers and sellers, to be launched in the near future;
  • The “M Network”, which is a mentorship network for the foundation’s entrepreneurs. The foundation’s approximately 1,600 experienced volunteers offer entrepreneurs across Quebec support to go further, as efficiently as possible.

“Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton will offer entrepreneurs the full range of its talent to support them in the decision-making process. Through this strategic alliance, the integrated business transfer approach we developed over 10 years ago will become an essential tool for developing the full growth potential of dynamic Quebec-based businesses; something that is of interest to us all,” stated Emilio B. Imbriglio, President and CEO of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.

Both organizations are highly invested in business transfers and successions, and pooling their expertise will help equip Quebec with a strong and engaged future generation of businesses. Business succession stakes are high for Quebec’s economic and social future and successful transfers will play a key role in maintaining thousands of jobs.

As the foundation highlighted during its 2013 Quebec entrepreneurial index, almost a third of Quebec business owners will retire over the next 10 years. This is a major challenge that entrepreneurship stakeholders must prepare for.

“We’re proud to be associated with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. This association consolidates business transfer solutions and reinforces this important link in the Quebec entrepreneurial chain,” affirmed Alain Aubut, President and General Manager of La Fondation de l’entrepreneurship.
