Éric Dufour

Éric Dufour

Éric Dufour, a Partner with the Management Consulting Group and national leader for entrepreneurial succession, recently played the role of dragon for an activity on the program of École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce (EEB).

Like competitors on the TV show “Dragons’ Den”, EBB’s entrepreneur-athletes had to present the issues related to their role as entrepreneurs. Then they had to choose the consultant most likely to be able to assist them in their progress. Éric Dufour proved to be a very popular choice, with six contracts. The entrepreneur-athletes will meet Mr. Dufour soon to benefit from personalized consultations, his expertise and advice.

A win-win partnership

This participation is part of the close collaboration between École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. By offering a $13,750 scholarship, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton allows an entrepreneur-athlete to have access to the expertise of this unique school and to be one of the 25 entrepreneurs who will be trained there.

EBB is the only school of its kind in Québec, dedicated to training entrepreneurs from all sectors, thanks to the expertise of high-level CEOs. Its objective is to build the Québec entrepreneurial elite. For more information, see www.eebeauce.com.

Bernard Grandmont

Many Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton professionals are engaged in their community. Our people’s social involvement attests to our commitment to build an ever more dynamic, competitive and innovative society. Partner Bernard Grandmont‘s efforts as Chairman of the Board of Théâtre de la Ville (TDLV) de Longueuil is fully consistent with this perspective.

Due to the colossal work of the board members and the entire team of TDLV – a multidisciplinary professional presenter operating on a metropolitan scale, located on the campus of Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, in Longueuil – a cultural complex will emerge.

On February 21, 2014, the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports and Minister responsible for the Montérégie region, Marie Malavoy, addressing an audience of personalities gathered at TDLV, announced an agreement in principle and a $20 million contribution by the Gouvernement du Québec for the construction of the Place Charles-Le Moyne cultural complex in Longueuil, a project developed by TDLV since 2006.

This new cultural complex will bring together four major professional organizations under the same roof: TDLV, Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil, Plein sud, centre d’exposition en art actuel, and Théâtre MOTUS.

It will also accommodate a large 1200-seat hall, a medium-sized 500-seat hall and a 350-seat cabaret venue. The complex will house the administration offices of the four organizations, two exhibition halls and studios. The opening is scheduled for the end of 2017.

For more information on this major project, see the official press release (in French).

Thank you to all the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton personnel who are committed to making a difference by furthering the economic, social and cultural growth of communities. Together, let’s continue to be involved in the success of our communities.
