Saint-Joseph, June 8, 2016. – On June 5th, more than 220 clients and business partners joined Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton employees and partners at the Hôtel Le Journel for a breakfast celebrating the 50th anniversary of the firm’s presence in Beauce. This was the second event, in a series of upcoming activities, to thank the clientele in each area where Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is present in Beauce.
The arrival of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton in Saint-Joseph started with the independent firm created by Andréa Latulippe in 1966. Several years later, Latulippe joined forces with Guy Gilbert, Claude Cliche, Normand Bourque and Claude Rodrigue, to found Latulippe, Cliche, Bourque, Gilbert, Rodrigue et Associés.
After various mergers, the group joined Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (Raymond Chabot Martin Paré, as it was known back then) in 1986. “This was a logical association because both firms had the same vision: serving SMEs to the best of their ability and focusing on close client relations. This is how, over time, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton became the largest Quebec-based accounting firm, benefitting from a network of more than 100 offices across the province,” said Rémi Fortin, Partner in charge of the Beauce offices.
The firm used this breakfast to highlight the exceptional contribution and present a commemorative gift to two of its forefathers in Saint-Joseph: Andréa Latulippe and Claude Cliche.
“The fact that Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has six offices in Beauce is proof of how close we are to our clients and how our professionals’ availability is at the heart of our priorities. We are aware of local market issues and, over the years, we have grown at the same rate as the businesses here by offering them a range of services adapted to their needs,” said Mario Morin, Regional Vice-President of Québec–Chaudière-Appalaches, Mauricie and Nicolet regions. Morin also underlined the hard work of some 70 Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton professionals in Beauce who were instrumental in the firm being able to maintain its reputation as a leader in the region.
In closing, Bertrand Jacques, Partner in charge of the Saint-Joseph office, thanked the loyal clients who, over the years, have put their trust in Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. “We are deeply touched and want to celebrate this important milestone with you all, here, in Saint-Joseph, where it all began, 50 years ago. You can rest assured that we will be around for many years to come,” said Jacques.
