Congratulations to Pierre Jones, Tax Partner in the Sherbrooke office, who served as Honourary Chair of the 17th Annual Celebrity Dinner – an event benefiting the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Estrie office. Thanks to Pierre and all of the stakeholders and sponsors involved in the event, which took place on January 25, 2012 in Sherbrooke, $21,000 was raised.

The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Quebec carries out clinical research projects to improve the rate of survival and quality of life of people affected by cardiovascular disease, and promotes healthy lifestyles and preventive programs across Quebec.

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton in congratulating Mrs. Catherine Labrecque-Andersen, M. Sc., analyst for the Business Valuation and Investigative and Forensic Accounting Department (Quebec), for her academic performance. In the course of her master degree in management reporting, Mrs. Labrecque-Andersen has been nominated on the Dean’s list recognition of the faculté des études supérieures et postdoctorales of the Université Laval for the year 2012.

This honour is awarded to Mrs. Labrecque-Andersen for her excellent grades, an average mark of over 4.1 on 4.33.

Our Firm’s expertise was once again showcased during the Urban Development Institute of Québec’s January 31, 2012 conference entitled, “Perspective 2012.” Benoît Egan, Partner, Real Estate Consulting in Montréal and President of our subsidiary, Desjarlais Prévost, was the moderator for a panel discussion at this event that was attended by 225 people. He also presented his vision of real estate investment for the next few years. Benoît’s panel included Jean Lapierre, Lawyer and Political Analyst and Carlos Leitao, Economist at the Laurentian Bank.

This successful event was also attended by Guy Charron (far left), President of the Urban Development Institute of Québec and Executive Vice-President and Chief of Operations, Québec, of CANMARC REIT.
