MONTRÉAL, September 26, 2012 – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton today officially launched its new Sustainability and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Management practice.

On this occasion, the Firm is proud to announce the appointment of Johanne Gélinas as Partner in Charge of the new practice within the Management Consulting Group.

A former Canadian Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development and former Commissioner with the Quebec Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement, Johanne Gélinas has more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors where she led numerous consultations and reviews on policy and program efficiency pertaining to environmental and sustainability issues in national and international contexts. She says she is thrilled with her new functions: “Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is particularly committed to its community, and its societal values converge toward the service we are launching today. By offering this new Sustainability and greenhouse gas expertise under the management consulting services, we are setting ourselves apart on the market to become an unquestionable leader,” observes Gélinas.

The new Sustainability and GHG Management team will leverage its consulting services expertise to support its clients, from designing corporate responsibility strategies to the operational implementation of sustainable development procedures.

About Johanne Gélinas, M.Sc.

Johanne Gélinas is a Partner in the Management Consulting Group and heads the Sustainable Development and GHG Management practice at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. Ms. Gélinas has more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors where she led numerous consultations and reviews on policy and program efficiency pertaining to environmental and sustainable development issues in national and international contexts. She leverages her extensive audit expertise for the benefit of public- and private-sector clients. As the former Canadian Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development between 2000 and 2007, she led a specialized team whose mandate was to audit the performance of all federal agencies and departments and handle major environmental and sustainable development issues. Congratulations to the two Sherbrooke Office teams that participated in the sixth edition of the Lake Memphrémagog relay race, to raise funds for under-privileged elementary school children.

Despite the bad weather, our two teams gave their all to run the 117 km of the race around Lake Memphrémagog, tackling twisting and hilly roads.

Kudos to the members of our two dynamic teams for finishing 29th and 30th, respectively on a total of 105 teams.

Montreal, (QC) September 20th 2012 – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton officially inaugurated its new office in Saint-Hyacinthe this evening in front of more than 200 attending guests. This event highlighted the Firm’s growth in Montérégie and was also the opportunity to thank its clients and business partners for their trust and continued collaboration.

On September 12, 2012, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton inaugurated its new Drummondville office with more than 100 guests. “We owe this expansion first and foremost to all our clients and partners. This event is an opportunity to thank them for the trust they have shown and continue to show in us. We share their desire for growth and success.
