Québec City, June 20, 2016. – In line with its commitment to the success of local entrepreneurs, and in particular that of women in business, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton has just finished a tour to promote female entrepreneurship. Begun in March, the tour was intended for students of Quebec secondary and college-level institutions, and was a resounding success.
This first edition of the CLEARR Effect (the acronym stands for Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton values: collaboration, leadership, excellence, agility, respect and responsibility) consisted in school visits featuring testimonials where the firm’s women of talent, along with women entrepreneurs from the region, addressed the issue of entrepreneurship and academic perseverance.
“We’re very proud of our tour. We visited some ten schools and close to 1,000 students were made aware of the issues of entrepreneurship and its significance for the development of Quebec communities and economic life. We must continually encourage the entrepreneurial succession, and we believe it’s essential to share the know-how and soft skills of exceptional women with our up-and-coming talent¾tomorrow’s managers” said Mélanie Boyer, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Partner and Women of Talent Committee Leader.
Formed in 2013, the Committee’s main mission is to highlight and promote the roles and responsibilities of women within the organization by supporting concrete actions that foster the development of communities where it is active.
The tour included educational establishments in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Cantons-de-l’Est, Québec City, Laval and Montréal regions.
