On February 22, 2012, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton hosted more than 20 young entrepreneurs in its downtown office for a breakfast conference with the SAJE.

Working mainly in information technology and communications, these young entrepreneurs were able to benefit from the expertise of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s professionals in various areas such as government credits, consumption taxes and assurance.

The first in a series, this event will be offered again in the coming months to numerous other entrepreneurs in the Montréal region in various business areas.

As a leader in the business development sector, SAJE has embraced the mission of contributing to the success of new entrepreneurs by offering consulting services, coaching and training.

Inauguration of the New Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Office

Montréal, February 23, 2012 – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton held the official opening of its new Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu office before 150 guests. The event highlighted the Firm’s expansion on the South Shore and was an opportunity to thank Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton clients and business partners, the driving force behind this growth.

Lynda Coache, Partner in Charge of the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Napierville offices, emphasized the importance of this move: “We have our clients to thank for this move. My team and I constantly strive to provide them with best service possible, they have shown their trust in Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton over the years and I’d like to thank them for that.”

Also in attendance was Montréal Region Vice-President, Michel Noël, who thanked all of the clients and business partners who contributed to the Firm’s success in the Montérégie region: “I’m very proud of our Firm’s expansion. This move is the result of both substantial growth and the drive to better serve our clients on offices tailored to their needs. Our clients and business partners have been instrumental to this growth, thank you, each and every one. We have their interests at heart and will continue to meet their needs conscientiously and efficiently.”

The event provided an opportunity to recognize two members of the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu office who recently received very special awards: Yannick Marcotte, Senior Tax Manager, received the CA Émérite 2012 Award, next generation category, from the Montérégie CA Group; and Lynda Coache, was given the Recognition Award–CA in Public Practice and received the title of Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec (OCAQ). The title formally recognizes OCAQ members who have rendered outstanding services to the profession, or whose professional or community achievements have set them apart and brought honour to the profession.

“Success cannot be achieved without a passionate and dynamic team. Community involvement, dedication and professionalism are essential values in our Firm and are clearly reflected in our Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu team’s work,” concluded Michel Noël. “They are the people who made it possible for Lynda and Yannick to stand out and receive these awards. Congratulations to them.”

RCGT’s Lévis office celebrated its 25th anniversary on February 16, 2012 with approximately 300 guests at the Centre de congrès et d’expositions de Lévis. The cocktail event was attended by clients, business partners and employees, as well as important members of the Lévis community, such as Mayor Danielle Roy-Marinelli.

After a short introduction on the office’s history, Pierre Lapointe, Regional Vice-President, spoke of the entrepreneurship of three of the office’s pillars: Roger Demers, François Noël and Louis-Pierre Gagnon. “Over the years, everyone who has ever worked at the Lévis office has embodied the values of our founders: sharing, collaboration and surpassing one’s self,” Pierre said.

Pierre Garant, Partner in Charge of the office, thanked all employees, business partners and above all clients for their unfailing trust: “You give us the opportunity to do the best job in the world: supporting you in your projects,” he said.
To warm applause, Roger, François and Louis-Pierre each received a painting as a token of thanks for their outstanding service. Earlier that day, two Lévis office conference rooms were named after Roger and Louis-Pierre, in recognition of their exceptional contribution.

Among the Firm’s first 20 Quebec offices, the Lévis office is one of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s most outstanding.

Lynda Coache

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s corporate finance expertise will be highly visible this week as Lynda Coache, Partner at the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu office, was asked to talk about the subject on the premiere of Canal Argent’s En Affaires show on Monday, February 13, 2012.

Lynda discussed the initial stages of launching a business and the various rounds of financing that support its growth.
