On September 5, 2018, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Senior Manager Denis Brisebois shared the findings of a study commissioned by Innovation et développement économique (IDE) Trois-Rivières.

According to the expert’s analysis, the impact of tourism in Trois-Rivières is considerable: close to three million visitors per year, that is, 8,000 per day on average, 4,750 related jobs and $213 million in economic spinoffs.

Denis stated: “All economic indicators are on the rise, whether it’s the occupancy rate, number of visitors, admissions to attractions, restaurants or shops.”

To arrive at these conclusions, the firm conducted interviews with opinion leaders and a survey with 130 business managers working in various activity sectors. This survey’s results are a clear indication that Trois-Rivières’s tourism appeal has increased significantly since 2008, rising from 2.1 out of 5 in 2008 to 4.1 out of 5 in 2018.

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton continues to extend its market share through the acquisition of Gestion CMJLL’s activities, under the ownership of Germain Bouchard since 1982.

As a result of the acquisition, which took place in June, the Saint-Joseph Boulevard premises in Roberval have been expanded.

Several current and future partners in the Lower St. Lawrence, Gaspé and French New Brunswick region met during the visit of President and CEO, Emilio B. Imbriglio.

The President’s visit is always a good opportunity for the region’s partners to get together. This year, Directors who have completed the training leading to becoming a partner were also in attendance. Julie Lapensée-Lafond, Assurance Manager stated: “Meeting with Emilio is always inspiring. He’s one of the great leaders and we’re pleased that he’s our President.”

A tour ending with a field day in Bonaventure

Our President and CEO’s tour ended with a field day in Bonaventure on August 24th. It was an opportunity for the partners to thank their employees for their hard work.

It also gave Emilio a chance to talk to the 60 employees gathered, many of whom were meeting him for the first time.

Employees took full advantage of this day that included kayaking down the Bonaventure salmon river, a round of golf at Flauvel Golf Club and a visit to the Bioparc and Acadian Museum. Employees even participated in a giant Scrabble game highlighting our CLEARR values. All in all, the tour was a great success.
