Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton President and CEO, Emilio B. Imbriglio, is committed to remaining close to our 2,300 talent and dynamic local entrepreneurs and, so every year, he visits offices in most regions. On September 18 and 19, 2017, he was in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, getting a feel for this region abundant in resources and passionate, creative people.

A round table with 12 local entrepreneurs

One of the highlights of this tour was Emilio’s round table with a dozen entrepreneurs from the region. Emilio stated, “It was an extraordinary opportunity for me to meet these individuals with a keen business sense who are always on the lookout for new technologies and innovations and who didn’t think twice about finding expertise abroad to help the regional economy!”

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the issues and challenges facing regional entrepreneurs, such as the recurring labour problem. Emilio added, “It’s important to encourage young people from Abitibi-Témiscamingue who’ve left to come back and to also attract new talent who will settle down in the region.”

Cocktail to launch Operio

Emilio’s visit was also an opportunity to launch Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s new Operio service across the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region before some forty economic development players and several firm partners and employees.

Launched in May 2017, Operio is an accounting-consulting platform deigned to lighten the administrative workload of SME leaders. For more information, visit www.operio.ca.

Enthusiasm in Val-d’Or

Serge Allard, Partner and Regional Vice-President, and the other Abitibi-Témiscamingue partners, were pleased to welcome Emilio and introduce him to their team of talented people. It was also the perfect time to visit the site of the new Val-d’Or offices, which are currently under construction and should be ready to welcome clients and employees by the end of the year.
