Montréal, May 27, 2011 – Because of its active involvement in and concern for the situation in the Montérégie region, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is pleased to kick-off the SOS Richelieu Committee’s fundraising drive with a $15,000 donation to help the flood victims of the Richelieu River.

“We are aware of just how distressing the situation is for those deluged citizens and the repercussions will continue to be felt long after the water levels have subsided. This is why we would like to provide the flood victims with both financial and volunteer assistance”, said Pierre Monette, Vice-President of the Montréal region.

The Firm is undertaking a number of initiatives to come to the aid of the flood victims. In addition to the donation to the SOS Richelieu Committee, teams of volunteers from the various Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton offices will be taking part in the Grande Corvée, scheduled for June 11 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to collect the detritus and assist with the cleanup required after the water levels have subsided.

The fund, managed by the Saint-Luc Lions Club for the SOS Richelieu Committee, is also under the volunteer monitoring program of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton LLP of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

“Having been affected by the floods myself and seeing many of my colleagues and friends in the same situation, I realize just how important it is to join in and to help our fellow citizens today and in the coming month, which is why I’ve accepted to be the patron of the SOS Richelieu Committee’s corporate fundraising drive, since help will be needed over the long term, and we want to be sure to contribute”, concluded Lynda Coache, Partner in Charge of RCGT’s Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu office.

Present in every region of Quebec, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton feels it has a specific duty to act when one such region has been affected and can only do its part to help local residents.

Congratulations to Véronique Denys, Taxation Manager, Québec City office, on having realized her dream and reached the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. This makes Véronique the third Quebecer to have successfully completed this expedition!

But it doesn’t stop there—by having scaled to the top of Everest, Véronique is working on accomplishing an even greater feat: successfully completing the “7 summits” challenge, which consists in climbing to the top of the seven highest peaks of each continent on the globe—an international challenge coveted by the greatest mountaineers in the world. Véronique has reached the top of her fifth summit out of seven, and if she manages to scale the other two (Vinson in Antarctica and the Carstenz pyramid in Oceania), she will become the first Quebecer ever to have made it to the top of all seven!

“Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is proud to have sponsored Véronique and to have contributed to the success and realization of her dream. She is an inspiration to all of our personnel throughout the network. This is also an excellent example of the benefits of our work/personal life balance policy,” said Jean Robillard, President and CEO.

Pierre Lapointe, Vice-President of the Québec City/Chaudière-Appalaches/Mauricie region stated, “This is our success as well, and I would like to thank all the Partners, professionals and employees in the region who supported and encouraged Véronique to follow her dream. I would also like to thank our clients and business partners who supported Véronique in this project. We can hardly wait for her return and hear the tale of her tantalizing adventure.” Hats off to you Véronique!

Montréal, May 16, 2011 – The Association des établissements de santé et de services sociaux du Québec convention has come to a close and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Consulting Group would like to congratulate all of the stakeholders from the various establishments on this quality event.

We are proud to have been associated with the 2011 edition of the convention. One of its key themes was the challenges related to the aging population and the participating establishments’ initiative in presenting innovative and bold projects to deal with these challenges should be acknowledged.

It is clear that these initiatives build on the willingness to bring about profound changes and are aligned with our philosophy of action, where the terms “dare, dream, act and find ways” were put into practice and made it possible to carry out organizational projects for our clients. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the executives and professionals involved in the network, who demonstrated such drive and creativity.

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is well aware that radical changes are needed in Quebec’s health and social services network in order to meet the needs of both those who work in it and those who benefit from its services. ‘‘If it were that simple, it would’ve been done already. We’re ready to help bring about this change. What’s more, our team has made major R&D investments in order to make a series of innovative approaches available that can help managers and teams play an active role in their organizations’ smooth transformation. These approaches are based on client experience management, which helps to ensure that safe and quality healthcare services are delivered at each point of contact”, concluded Marie-Hélène Desrosiers, Partner with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Consulting Group.
