Sherbrooke, February 17th, 2016 – Keeping up with its tradition, the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Sherbrooke office started the year off with an art exhibition. Under the honorary co-chairmanship of Messrs. Steve and Stephan Elkas, of Steve L. Elkas Funeral Home, a hundred business people and artists from the area gathered yesterday evening in the Sherbrooke office for the private viewing.

The exhibition, jointly set up by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and La Grande Virée Artistique de Sherbrooke, will be opened until June 10th, 2016 and displays thirty or so works of art from local artists, which include works from Mrs. Marilène Laprise and Mrs. Célyne B., painters, as well as from Mr. Régis Canuel, sculptor.

People are invited to come see the exhibit for free at the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton office, located at 455 King West Street, suite 500, in Sherbrooke, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

“To support artists and their works is a perfect way to showcase the talent that we have locally. Culture is most certainly a great lever for economic development. Our artists, like business people, are actively contributing to the growth of our community. It is why we are very proud to provide these creatives with a unique place to exhibit their works of art since 1987”, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s Eastern Townships’ Vice-President, Mr. Guy Fauteux, stated.

“La Grande Virée Artistique de Sherbrooke is very happy to partner up once again with the biggest accounting firm in Québec to make local artists’ works of art known to a broader public. The talent of our art creatives must be better recognized and our collaboration with the business community shows our common purpose to provide them with means to fulfil their goals and ambitions”, concluded the President of the organization, Mrs. Nancy Asselin.

Always having in mind a concern to innovate and support the local organizations, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton took advantage of this private viewing to announce a new partnership with the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra (OSS). The firm is also proud to sponsor a trio of musicians, which will be named Le Trio RCGT. This trio will play for various events (weddings, symposiums, anniversaries, etc.) at an affordable cost. Do not hesitate to contact the OSS for more information.
